THE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INAUGURATED
The minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Hon. William Ruto on Monday 17th May 2010 inaugurated the recently appointed Council for Science and Technology at a ceremony was held at the LAICO Regency Hotel. The new Council will, among other urgent tasks, oversee the transformation of the Council in to a Commission for Science and Technology, with responsibilities to ensure registration and regulation of research activities as well as overseeing quality assurance of scientific and technological activities.
2. NCST gets a Deputy Secretary to Council
Dr. M. K. Rugutt has joined the Council as Deputy Council Secretary. Until his appointment, Dr. Rugutt was Chief Research Officer with the Department of Research Development and Management within the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. Staff of the NCST welcomes Dr. Rugutt.
