Prof. Shaukat A. Abdulrazak, Ph.D, FSB, FASI, MBS
Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak is the Secretary/CEO National Council for Science and Technology (NCST). The council is the focal point on Science, Technology and Innovation in Kenya whose mandate is to advice the Government upon all matters relating to ST&I and Research issues necessary for proper co-ordination and economic development of the Republic.
He is a member of the National Economic Social Council (NESC), a standing committee comprising of eminent persons with diverse experience, knowledge and skills and are mandated to provide expert advise on economic and social matters to the President and Cabinet. Prof. Abdulrazak is the chairman of African Technology Policy Studies (ATPS) Board.  He served as Chair of Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute Board between 2005 and 2007.

He is a Board member of Kenya Agriculture Research Institute (KARI), Kenya Institute of Research and Development (KIRDI), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KEMFRI), Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), Numerical Machine Complex (NMC), Radiation Protection Board (RPB), Commissioner for the Commission for Higher Education (CHE), and Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA).

Prof. Abdulrazak is also the National Liaison Officer of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Kenya and governor of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Italy and Chairman of Programme Management Committee of African Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training related to Nuclear Science and Technology (AFRA).

He is a full Professor and has taught at Egerton University since 1997. While there he also served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) Research & Extension and Chairman of Animal Science Department.  He has supervised postgraduate students both at the Ph. D and MSc levels. He was also an External Examiner in the Department of Animal Science, Makerere University between 2008 and 2010.
Prof. Abdulrazak is a motivational speaker and has given motivational speeches to over 35 secondary schools all over Kenya, he has also been called upon on many occasions to motivate employees in different organisations. In 2009 the office of Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Kenya appointed him as one of the eight experts to undertake consultancy in the development of Sector Performance Standards, a framework for performance contracting for Government Ministries towards the successful implementation of Kenya Vision 2030 and the Medium Term Plans.

Prof. Abdulrazak is a fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS), the Society of Biologists U.K (FSB) and African Scientific Institute (FASI). He is also a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) , member Kenya National Academy of Science (MKNAS) and the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Alumni, USA.  

He was decorated with Moran of the Order of Burning Spear (MBS) by His Excellency the President of Kenya in 2008 and included as a subject of biographical record in Marquis Who is Who in the world 2010 Edition.  He has published over 100 papers in international journals, scientific conference and symposia proceedings and national newspapers and magazines. He is also an Editorial Board member of six International refereed journals. His MSc and PhD from University of Aberdeen, UK, while post doctorate training from Shimane University, Japan.
