National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) is a statutory institution of the government of Kenya, having been established in July 1977 by the Science and Technology Act. Cap. 250 of the Laws of Kenya. The purpose was and still is to provide machinery for making available to the Government advice upon all matters relating to the scientific and technological activities, and for coordination of research and experimental development together with matters incidental and connected therewith.

The preferred national institution for services in policy development, coordination, promotion and advice on matters of science, technology and innovation.

To promote, coordinate and advice on matters of and related to national science, technology and innovation.
